Banner represents the culmination of a series of acquisitions in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s by parent company Vion, NV.  Vion first acquired Pharmacaps, Inc. with operations in New Jersey, US and Mexico City, Mexico.  Next they bought Banner Gelatin Products Corp., with operations in California, US and Alberta, Canada.

The two companies merged in 1992, and in 1994, Vion strengthened its market position by acquiring Chase Pharmaceutical Company.  The three companies were combined under the Banner Pharmacaps division to create one of the two largest producers of soft gelatin capsules in North America.

In 1994, Banner opened its European manufacturing facility in Tilburg, The Netherlands, giving Banner manufacturing plants and interests in the US, Europe, Canada and Mexico.  This final acquisition allowed Banner to become the global delivery and proprietary health care products organization it has evolved into today.
